Breakfast, shower, packed, and checked out of the hotel by noon. I had a train to catch at 12:50. A long train ride. Four and a half hour trip to Manchester. Boarding the train, I find a nice table seat that was completely open. It stayed that way for the better part of the trip. Two people sat down with my three stops away from Manchester. Not too shabby of a trip.
Getting off the train and jumping onto the Manchester tram, I start my journey to the new place. I didn’t get to the front doors until 6pm. My host and hostess are great people! And such a beautiful flat! It’s an old building, so the floor’s a bit chilly, but it looks amazing! I wish my apartment looked like this. Very spacious but tiny shower stall. Oh well, still better than the shower in the murder-apartment when I first arrived in England.
After giving me a tour around, and telling me of places nearby, they gave me the keys and left. I unpacked, organized, then left for the grocery store to get food and laundry detergent. I’m wearing my last set of clean clothes so I really need to do laundry.
A hour later I was making dinner (ribs and Indian hors d’oeuvre) and doing the laundry. Nothing overly exciting today. Laundry, eating, watching Scrubs, then passed out while chatting with my roomie.
